ISLAMABAD: Four years after selling plots to the citizens in the Park Enclave 11 housing project, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday started the process to take possession of the land.

In January 2016, the civic sold out 300 plots in the extension of Park Enclave on Park Road called Park Enclave 11 without possession of the land.

The one kanal plots were auctioned against Rs20.5 million each and the allotees were supposed to get developed plots after making the payments in four installments in one year.

Sources in the CDA said majority of the allotees had already deposited their installments but so far there was no signs of development at the site. However, the CDA on Thursday started an operation to get the land vacated from the locals.

According to a press release, the civic agency `retrieved 40 kanals in Park EnclaveIl during a massive operation.` The operation was conducted by the enforcement directorate and assisted by the Islamabad administration, police and staff of the revenue department. Heavy machinery was utilised to vacate the land.

It said the operation would continue to ensure retrieval of the land so that development work could be initiated in Park Enclave-II.

In accordance with the instructions of the authority, a fence would be erected around the retrieved land so that it could not be encroached again, it added.
